Lorelyn & Edwin - Oct. 6, 2007

32 people? I asked. In the wedding party? Yes, 34 including us. I was astonished (& a little frightened). No problem, I reassured them. We can do it. When you have this many close friends & relatives it makes for a bit of chaos & tons of fun. I have to admit though once we got these two alone that’s when we were able to capture these really amazing moments. Thnaks for a great day guys. Enjoy.

Bebbinar in Vancouver

So... you might be curious ‘How was it?’ ‘Did you learn anything?’ The answer is a resounding YES! At moments we felt like a million bucks, other moments like 2 cents. Jennifer & Stephen Bebb were energetic, open, honest (brutally so sometimes) & challenging. We learned TONS, we met lots of cool new people & were exhausted by the end. Here’s some images from one of the assignment we were given with models.

Cate & Paul In Kicking Horse - Part 2

For anyone that has been followin this blog, I know you have been waiting for this second half of Paul & Cate’s Kicking Horse adventure. I decided to condense the jaw dropping scenery, vivid colors & non-stop smiles into a slideshow so check this out to view more of their spectacular September wedding in Golden BC.

Muller Family

I was imagining after travelling for 2 hours in a vehicle & then getting lost for another 45 minutes in an unfamiliar city, I would be getting a little frustrated on my way to a family photo shoot. Not so for this family - they were troopers! The 3 kids hopped out raring to go & mom & dad were so patient & understanding. This family shoot was totally fun.

Johnstone Family

Even though they tried to hide it I heard a few “I’m so hungover” type mutterings among the group as we started the family photo session Saturday afternoon. Before long everyone was relaxing, smiling, laughing & joking around as they realized this wasn’t going to be like those Sears portraits they’d had in the past. It’s amazing to see such a close family who genuinely enjoy hanging out with each other - even while getting their photos done hungover. You guys were great. Thanks!

Cheryl & Graham - Sept. 29, 2007

They met on a bus 19 years ago while they were both much younger & travelling through Europe. The chemistry was there, but the timing was wrong. He returned to New Zealand & she to Canada. 14 years later they reconnected & neither had forgotten the other. When the ceremony took place on a beautiful fall afternoon it was obvious to everyone there the chemistry & the love between these two was still there. Congratulations guys, we enjoyed our fun in the leaves & spending the day with you immensely.

Vancouver Seminar with the Bebbs

So Matt & I are heading off to Vancouver for a week to take part in a fabulous photography seminar with the Bebbs. These 2 were voted in the top 10 wedding photographers on the planet this year, so I figure they could teach us a thing or two. We are really excited (& a little nervous & awe-struck) so that means we'll be out of contact until Sept. 15 (ish), so please be patient if we don't return e-mails as quickly as you're used to.
Happy Thanksgiving to all & wish us luck!

FYI - This is why we're excited (http://www.tyingtheknot.net/index2.php)

Ashley & Nathan e-session

When Matt arrived to shoot Ashley & Nathan they were super keen & couldn't wait to get their engagement photos started. An amateur photographer himself, Nathan was especially excited. Usually it takes a while for our couples to trust that what we're asking them to do will look good in the photos & relax but for Nathan & Ashley that wasn't an issue, they were totally into it & each other :)

Mary & Derrick & Sadie

'Adorable' does not even begin to describe this little family. When we shot Mary & Derrick's wedding a few years ago in Banff we had a blast & were looking forward to the next chance to get them behind the camera. The pregnancy shots were next & now the beautiful Sadie. She's such an wonderful combination of her mom & dad & they are every bit the dotting parents. Like I said...adorable doesn't even do these guys justice.

Sheila & Neil

You're supposed to wait until after we're married to test the 'in sickness and in health' part she told him with a smile. He smiles back & says 'Thank-you'. With the recent health concerns behind them Sheila & Neil are closer than ever & it shows. Thanks for shooting in the rain on a chilly fall afternoon guys, I'm glad there's nothing that's going to keep your spirits down :)

Scott & Charis

I smile to myself as I think of how Charis & Scott played & laughed as I was shooting their e-session. Charis was contantly teasing & poking & laughing as Scott did his best to keep a straight face. With their lighhearted spirits & obvious affection for each other it's easy to see why they fell in love...I can't wait to capture their wedding in Banff this winter. Enjoy!
