NEW STUDIO

So, as I mentioned we have a terrific new studio space in the Ramsay/Inglewood area which we are thrilled about. We took a few photos to share on the blog but we are by no means finished setting the space up. We have some cool new images in the works to put up on the walls & the space is larger than shown here, but you can get an idea of what it's like.

Wedding Fair

Thanks to all of you who stopped by our booth at The Wedding Fair on Sunday. We had a lot of fun chatting with everyone & were really proud of how our booth turned out. Here's some pics for those of you who are curious & didn't want to brave the cold & crowds.

NEW LOOK | NEW WEBSITE

We had a fabulous time in Florida & learned tons at the seminar. There are so many talented photographers out there and it's so exciting to hear them speak, see their images & be inspired to see what's possible. We can't wait to get to the new season! Since we've been back we've been insanely busy getting our new branding (logo, business cards, signage & promo pieces) ready for this weekend's Bridal Fair. We love the new logo that Sasha from Otis and Huckleberry
http://www.otishuck.com/
came up with for us. Here's a sneak preview for you loyal blog readers out there;

Come on now - I need some feedback & I hope it's good cause it's been an insanely stressful week.

Also for your viewing pleasure we have a all new super fabulous website that has been launched (or so I'm told within 24 hours will be completed - but it's working on my computer now so I hope it works on yours as well). This has been a lot of work but I am very excited to hear thoughts on this. Please check it out. http://www.f8photography.com/

We are going to have a kick ass booth at this weekends Bridal Fair if anyone's up to coming for a visit please stop by - you'll even get to see me wearing a (gasp!) dress & maybe even nail polish (will wonders never cease!). So come by, check out the booth & our new top secret..........
To be revealed on Sunday.

Good night all!

Big things!

First of all, very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year to All. What an amazing year we’ve had & are super excited to see what 2008 brings.

Our office is currently closed as we enjoy some much needed family time over Christmas. Then we are off to Tampa Bay, Florida for an excitng photography seminar to learn from some of the top wedding photographers in the world. We will be back to work Jan.11 & looking forward to tackling a new year.

Big news for us at f.8 photography....we have a studio space! It is in our neighbourhood (Ramsay) & is a very modern, cool space which we are excited about starting to use. The address is 1043 - 19 Ave SE - a very unusual red & aluminum building that is also home to the architects Smith & Co. We will be holding meetings, print & album pick ups & even doing some shooting in there. We have loved the personal feeling of having our clients come to our home but as our 2 little girls grow & our business grows we felt it was time to separate the two a bit.

I also wanted to share a New Year’s Goal I’ve set for myself. I usually am totally against these things as I feel you are set up to fail & I prefer to set goals as they present themselves in my life rather than on a specific pre-determined day. That aside, my goal is to keep up more with the blogging. I really enjoy sharing my client experiences & the love of our photography careers so I am aiming for blogging twice a month. Hold me to it & let me know if I’m falling behind.

So, we’re off to Tampa to be photography sponges & deliver an even more inspired experience to our clients. Wish us luck!

Sheila & Neil Nov. 17, 2007

There was someone out there shining their blessing down as we took photos of these 2 on a chilly November afternoon. It was a cloudy day & as we arrived the sun peeked out long enough for us to capture some terrific photos & as we were finishing the sun tucked itself back away for the day. The chilly temperature did nothing to discourage these two from having a great shoot.

Brian & Noel

When I met Brian & Noel I was struck by their genuine personalities. They are a super caring couple & have wonderful connection - not to mention that Noel is a gorgeous pregnant lady. Their common love of all things Pooh Bear sealed their partnership & this is going to be one lucky & cherished little baby.

The Kresowaty's

I met the Kresowaty’s at the zoo on a very chilly December afternoon & felt like we’d escaped to a tropical paradise for an hour. I love these family shots we captured & despite Connors aversion the camera it’s easy to see what a super cute little guys he’s growing up to be.

Amy & Jesse & Jake

Such a sweet family. We met Amy & Jesse at his brother’s wedding 2 years ago & then re-connected for his sisters wedding last year. When it came time for prego photos we were thrilled when they called us. Amy was so relaxed & patient with her busy little son, Jake & Jesse every bit the doting father. These are some of my favorites from the session. Congrats on the new addition guys - can’t wait to capture little sister too!

Chuck & Laura & Sam & Zoe

Being neighbors with this family made the commute to shoot their family portraits easy. This is an extra special shoot for me as it’s the first shoot I did in our new studio space. If this was any indication I am very much looking forward to capturing more fun family portraits in our new space. I love how much fun Zoe had hamming it up for the camera & how Sam played it a little ‘cooler’ showing their different personalities.

Emma & Jarrod & Charlotte

‘She’s our little bee’ Emma says with a smile, squeezing Charlotte’s hand. After a very rocky start this little 3 month old sweetheart is content at home & her mom & dad are every bit the doting parents. Little Bee did her part by looking adorable & co-operating & even having a little nap during the shoot. What a gorgeous little lady!

Jo-Anne & Vlad & Jacob

When I arrived to photograph this little family I had a terrible cold & was feeling awful. Within a few minutes of hanging out with this good natured little guy I couldn’t help but smile & feel better. He was patient throughout his different outfits, hats & location changes. Jo-Anne & Vlad admit they’re pretty lucky parents & smile happily as they play with their little pride & joy.

Sandy & Ryan & Molly

Molly is my all time favorite name & this little girl certainly lives up to it. The depth in this little one’s eyes made it easy to photograph her & hard to stop. Add in her good looking & super cool parents & it was a great family portrait session.

Arianna & Darren & Yoenne

Yoenne is my gorgeous god-daughter & such a cool kid. I love shooting their family portrait each year & watching her grow & change. Her smile is infectious & she never sits still, but she’ll soon be sharing the spotlight with a new little sister or brother. Best of luck!

Michelle & Craig & family

I love photographing families in their environments & that often ends up being in peoples homes & even their bedrooms. It’s fun to see families playing together & relaxing. Michelle & Craig have a lovely home, lovely kids & are obviously are in love. Here’s some photos from their ‘bedroom’ studio.
