Chari & Darren

Chari & Darren chose to get married in Springbank, a beautiful rural area just outside of Calgary. Darren proposed while he & Chari were horseback riding & they both love the outdoors so the locations we chose were very much about them. Despite our best efforts we were unable to capture any horses in our shots, as we had intended, due to a crazy rainstorm that started pouring the second we finished shooting (phew!). It definitely made for some beautiful dramatic skies & memorable shots. Congrats guys. Enjoy the images.

2 Strangers and a Wedding

On Oct. 30, two strangers will meet for a blind date in Calgary.
Neither one will know what the other looks like, but they'll both be easy to spot in the crowd.
One will be wearing a long white gown and the other will be in a tuxedo.
They will meet at the end of the aisle, exchange "I dos," sign a legal document and then have some face time at the reception.
(this is an excerpt from the Calgary Herald & the photo's from Canada.com)

Has anyone heard about this 'social experiment'? It is the work of local radio station Energy 101.5. Interestingly enough matt & I have been chosen to photograph the wedding. We are really thrilled & excited. It's such a different concept & not our usual wedding style but we think it will be really fun. Imagine all the emotions, excitement, anticipation that couples feel at their weddings & multiply X10 - that's what I'm imagining these couples will go through. Should be really interesting.
So - anyone have any thoughts on this crazy wedding?

Details, details

Last month we photographed the amazing wedding of Jaymie & Carl at Teatro in Calgary (see prior blog). The wedding was all about the details. Everything was designed, created & just stunning, right down to the smallest elements. It was the combination of the efforts of Jaymie & Carl (both art directors from Chicago) & the wedding planner Lisa Hanslip. We have had the priviledge of working with Lisa several times & she never ceases to amaze & impress us with how beautifully & smoothly things go when she's involved. Check out her work at the wedding planner
I will let the photos speak for themselves.

Rick & Jennifer

Rick and Jennifer wanted a real rustic feel to their wedding pictures and although we started out shooting at locations with big color, our next locations down in Cochrane were exactly the look they were expecting. As we were wrapping up the shoot, huge dramatic rain clouds filled the sky and we talked rick and Jen into driving up to the highest hill we could find so as to capture some amazing shots with them before the heavens opened up. We love what we captured with you guys. Have a look at these cool shots!

Christa & Jordan e-session

"I'm really nervous and I don't look good in pictures". These are the first words Christa said to me when we meet down at Fish Creek park on a beautiful afternoon last week. Jordan just laughed at her and was totally cool, calm and collected for the whole shoot helping relax his sweet little Christa.
Well guys, check out these wicked shots and then tell me you don't take a good picture. What did I tell you Christa, once you get comfortable in front of the camera, you look awesome!

Eamon & Jen

It started innocently as a drink with a couple of co-workers after work one day & one of the 3 co-workers quickly realized he was the 3rd wheel & gracefully escaped early. From there on in there was no hiding the fact that Eamon & Jen were madly & thoroughly in love. It wasn't long before they were living together & just a few short years later we all witnessed the obvious love between these 2 soul mates as they exchanged their vows in front of family & friends. Eamon & Jen, thanks for trusting us with some different locations & helping us to make you guys look good by just being yourselves (that part was easy). When people are in love they are always easy to photograph. Enjoy the photos!
