Megan & Tyler are a couple who love the Alberta ranching life, so it seemed very fitting that we did their e-session down at the Ranche in Fish creek park. Usually it's the guy who is really nervous having their portrait done but Tyler was cool, calm and collected. Megan on the other hand was a bundle of nerves and was sure that I couldn't capture a nice image of her, no matter how good I thought I was. Check these out Megan. This is why e-sessions are so important to Trish and I. I know you'll like these, just wait till your wedding images!

Jodi & Jeff's portrait in the park
Late last year f8 photography donated a portrait session to be auctioned off to support a local ice skating olympic hopeful. Jodi & Jeff were the highest bidders and wanted to have a laid back session down at Bowness park. Their wedding is this summer out in Manitoba (unfortunately being photographed by a manatobian) so this was a great way to have an e-session in Calgary's winter wonderland. You guys were great to work with and although it was bloody cold, I'm stoked with the images we captured together. Cheers!

Ava the little lady, turns 2!
We had so much fun photographing the gorgeous little Ava yesterday. Dave & Kim are great friends of ours & I have been photographing them from their wedding through pregnancy, Ava's first year (& smash the cake) until now & wow, the time has flown! Ava's having her 2nd birthday party on Sunday (while we're at the Wedding Fair) & Kim really was hoping to have a few images to show everyone. How could I resist this adorable little face? Happy Birthday Ava!

Claire & Curtis - a winter wedding
We usually warn our brides & grooms that if you're getting married in the winter in Canada you're going to be cold, you're going to need warm boots & we will be shooting outside. True to our Canadian winters January 10th was quite chilly & of course we shot outside all day. Not once did Claire complain, question or hesitate during our photos, not once did her smile fade even a little - she was an absolute trooper & simply glowed with happiness. The whole wedding party were a blast to work with, wore their warm boots in the snow & obviously very excited to be a part of this amazing couple's wedding. Claire & Curtis, I hope you enjoying your very warm honeymoon & congratulations - enjoy your photos!
On a side note - Claire's mom took me aside when I first arrived at the house to explain to me how important the photos of her daughter's wedding were to her. That one day I would understand when my girls were older what it meant to have your daughter get married & what led up to that day. She almost made me tear up & I could see by the family photos everywhere what she was talking about & how close this family was. I hope that our photos will join in the ranks with the other family memories on the walls & that we did mom proud. These 2 are for you Diane.

The Allen's baby to be.....
Krista & Jeff are expecting their frst child very soon & are quite excited. Like me, Krista met an Aussie in a pub (initailly lured in by that sexy accent!) & they are now married & living in Calgary. I could tell they were both a little nervous to be having prego photos done, but very at ease with each other & our time together flew by.
Enjoy the photos guys, you won't believe it was you with that big belly in a few months!
