Laurel & James e-session

Though they were a little reserved at the initial meeting Laurel & James definitely showed their quirky side during their engagement shoot with Matt. They laughed, teased, jumped, twirled & snuggled their way through a snowy afternoon. Love it!

Charis & Scott Feb.23, 2008

At a beautiful castle in the Rocky Mountains Charis & Scott were King & Queen for a day. From their Presidential Suite we gazed over a million dollar view as Charis was getting ready then down to St. Stephen's Hall where the guests waited patiently in a room where royalty once entertained. As the warm weather held we travelled around Banff to capture the deep bond between this couple that have known each other since grade one. The evening finished off with an amazing band, Charis's dad singing the first dance song & crowds of family & friends illuminating the scene with hand held sparklers...I couldn't imagine a more perfect wedding day for this terrific couple. Congrats!

On a side note Cayley from Rocky Mountain weddings did a great job co-ordinating this wedding & if you're looking for a wedding co-ordinator in the Banff area - here's her website to check out. Rocky Mountain Weddings

Rosemary & Doug - 50th Anniversary

A former wedding client of ours asked me to do a shoot with his parents celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. It's not my usual subject but I had a blast capturing the flame that is still very much alive between this long time married couple.

Lara & Del Feb.16, 2008

Matt was hired to do a quick reception only shoot for Del & Lara last Saturday @ the Wedding Pavillion. He got there in time to see the ceremony wrapping up, snagged a few photos & then onto the reception. I was so impressed with his shots & with his photojournalistic style, he captured some great stuff in a short time.

Shelley & Ryan Wedding - Feb.9, 2008

Without a doubt, Shelley & Ryan chose to get married on one of the coldest days we have ever shot outside (-36˚C). Fortunately, we had forseen this possibility & scouted out some cozy locations nearby in which to take shelter & capture some amazing images of these two newly weds. Congrats guys & thanks for being willing to trust us & snuggle tight to stay warm. Enjoy your honeymoon!

Welcome Easton

When I arrived to take photos of 8 day old Easton it was like stepping into a photographers dream. He was fast asleep, on a sheepskin blanket, in from of a fireplace in a room full of natural light. This was extremely good news for the style of photography I love to shoot.

The more natural light the better & I learned a HUGE lesson that day. Photos of newborn babies are best done in the first 7 days of their lives (max.10 days). Easton was sleepy, easily changed into various outfits, didn’t mind being moved into different locations & positions & so co-operative. I could do all my favorite detail shots & the new ideas I’d been waiting to have the right situation to try out - accomplished. Not to mention how welcoming, comfortable & relaxed Kyla & Curtis were to be around.
Thanks for a fabulous shoot guys - enjoy your gorgeous son.
